Some of the work that Gareth Brooks has created is magical to look like. The orbs that he manages to create are intricate and no line seems to be out of place. When taking the images Gareth uses the range of different composition techniques. He also mixes up the colours of the orbs, but seems to like the multi-coloured ones most and I can see why because he seems to enjoy them so much. I have not yet worked out how he manages to create some of the orbs that I have seen but hope that in future pieces of work I can mimic his creates and turn them into something just as great to look at. The majority of Gareth’s images are landscape, but I see no hidden concept or meaning behind the images. However something that I can see being interpreted from the images is that Gareth was trying to show ghostly orbs and add some sort of supernatural aspect into his work.

There is a big similarity of the two images that I have chosen to analyse further. Gareth Brooks creates unique and different orbs and offer a beautiful look into his mystical world of light painting. The orbs are great because of their intricate lines and shapes; Gareth does not have a line out of place. I don’t think that I will amount the perfection that he has created with my work over only a couple weeks, but my goal is to match his lines in their tidy orb appearance. Both images are of asymmetrical composition and by doing this all attention is focused to the left of the image. However to also balance the images beauty out, Gareth has added backgrounds into his images that are quite beautiful.

The first of the two images is set in the forest and although it holds a gloomy atmosphere, It also expels an atmosphere of a fantasy word, something supernatural and out of this world. Colours that are used in the first image include: black, green, brown and yellow. All of the colours represent an earthy and natural vibe. The second image is similar in its composition however the colours used are much cooler. While both images are similar, at the same time their moods give off something totally different. The landscape type of image that they are only adds to the vast background and make-believe glowing orbs. I aim to achieve similar atmosphere with my next set of images.
